Where Do Those Vintage Clothes Come From? Insight from a Vintage Clothing Dealer

As all of our members here at Got Vintage? deal with authentic vintage items, many of them tend to handle a few – if not a whole lot – of vintage clothing and accessories. Some of our members operate a full time shop dedicated to vintage clothing and accessories online as well as a brick and morter, while other sellers may just run across a piece or two that they just can’t pass up and have to scoop up to list along with their other items in their shops.

Yes, it is true. While many vintage clothing dealers may just go out picking and saving from local resale charity shops like St. Luke’s and Goodwill, often they will get items handed down to them through relatives or friends of relatives. At the very least, they may get an “in” to be the first one into an estate sale or into the closet prior to a sale.
